NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that construction work will persist on Route 3, also known as West Chester Pike, in Newtown Township, Delaware County. The continuation of construction is part of a local safety improvement project aimed at enhancing road conditions and safety for motorists.
Starting from Monday, January 8, through to Friday, January 12, lane closures are scheduled on Route 3 in both directions between Boot Road and Bryn Mawr Avenue. The closures will occur from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning.
Motorists should be prepared for potential delays and backups in the work area. PennDOT advises travelers to allow extra time for their journeys during these periods. As with all construction projects, all scheduled activities are dependent on the weather. This means that adverse weather conditions could lead to changes in the construction schedule.
We urge all drivers to remain patient and exercise caution when driving through the affected areas, keeping an eye out for construction workers and equipment. Remember, your safety and the safety of road workers are paramount.
