PennDOT Announces Road Closures in Chester City for Apple Studios Filming

Traffic Alert

CHESTER, PA — Chester residents and motorists should prepare for detours and potential delays next week as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced road closures due to a film production by Apple Studios.

From Wednesday, January 10, through Friday, January 12, U.S. 13 (9th Street) will be closed from 6:30 PM to 6:00 AM each day. The closure will affect the stretch between U.S. 13 (Highland Avenue) and Engle Street to accommodate the film crew’s activities.

During these hours, motorists will be directed to use a detour via U.S. 13 (Highland Avenue), 7th Street, and Engle Street. Local access will be maintained up to the work zone, ensuring residents can reach their homes and businesses.

Given the nature of such closures, PennDOT advises motorists to allow extra time when traveling near the work area, as backups and delays are likely to occur. The department also notes that all scheduled activities are weather-dependent, suggesting that plans could change if conditions are unfavorable.

As always, the priority remains the safe and efficient management of traffic. Motorists are encouraged to exercise patience and caution when navigating the detour and nearby areas.
