PennDOT Announces Nighttime Roadwork Across Three Counties

Lane closures

SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has issued a travel advisory for motorists in Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties, warning of upcoming nighttime roadwork that is expected to impact travel. The scheduled operations, part of a wider effort to maintain and improve state highways, will involve lane closures and may cause traffic delays.

In Delaware County, from Sunday, April 14, through Friday, April 19, drivers should anticipate lane closures with flagging on Concord Road between Bethel Road and U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) in Aston, Concord, Chester, and Bethel townships. These closures, aimed at paving and utility adjustments, will occur from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM and from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, respectively. Similar work will take place on Engle Street in Chester Township and Route 352 (Edgmont Avenue) across Parkside, Brookhaven, and the City of Chester. Additionally, Route 252 (Newtown Street Road) in Newtown Township will see moving lane closures for crack sealing operations starting Monday, April 22, through early May.

Montgomery County will also face disruptions, with lane closures on Upper Ridge Road in Green Lane Borough and Marlborough Township, as well as on Bala Avenue in Lower Merion Township and Barren Hill Road in Whitemarsh Township for milling and paving work. These closures are scheduled during daytime and nighttime hours from Sunday, April 14, to Friday, April 19.

In Philadelphia, motorists can expect lane closures on Walnut Street, Allegheny Avenue, Aramingo Avenue, and Castor Avenue for line striping and the installation of speed humps. These activities are planned from Monday, April 15, through Friday, April 19, and will primarily occur during daylight hours, with some extending into the night.
