PARADISE TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a significant bridge replacement project set to commence on Route 741 (Strasburg Road) in Paradise Township, Lancaster County. This project is part of a larger plan to replace three bridges throughout the county.
The bridge, which spans Eshleman Run just east of Keneagy Hill Road, is scheduled for closure on Monday, March 11, weather permitting. Commuters should prepare for an approximately 69-day detour via Belmont Road and Route 896. To ease traffic flow during the detour, PennDOT will install a temporary traffic signal at the intersection of Belmont Road and Route 896.
But the work doesn’t stop there. The Strasburg Road bridge is just one of three slated for replacement under this contract. The other two include bridges on Route 2014 (Maple Shade Road) over Coopers Run in Colerain Township and Route 2031 (Walnut Run Road) over Walnut Run in Strasburg Township.
Work on the Maple Shade Road bridge is anticipated to kick off later this spring, while the Walnut Run Road bridge project is expected to get underway this summer. PennDOT will issue additional press releases before the commencement of work on each bridge.
The prime contractor for this $2,020,305 project is Doli Construction Corporation, based in Chalfont, PA. The company is tasked with ensuring all work is completed by September 4, 2024.
