CAPE MAY, NJ — Owowcow, a premium ice cream brand from Bucks County, has extended its reach to the Jersey Shore this summer. Ice cream enthusiasts can now indulge in the brand’s award-winning, small-batch ice cream at three locations in Cape May operated by Cape Resorts. These new spots add to Owowcow’s existing five shops in Bucks and Hunterdon Counties.
At Tommy’s Folly Ice Cream Parlour in Congress Hall, visitors can enjoy eight handmade, locally sourced flavors. The offerings include Madagascar Vanilla, I Hate Chocolate, Blueberry Lemon, Cookie Monstah, Cookies & Cream, Almond Coconut, Cinnamon Bourbon, and Vegan Vanilla Caramel. Meanwhile, The Rusty Nail Bar & Restaurant offers ice cream pops, sandwiches, and Bowwowcow ice cream for dogs. The Market at Beach Plum Farm stocks assorted pints of Owowcow ice cream.
A proprietary flavor made with ingredients from Cape Resorts’ Beach Plum Farm is currently in development. Owowcow’s founder and master ice cream maker, John Fezzuoglio, finds this partnership a natural fit. “We love the property, but most importantly, Cape Resorts shares our focus on supporting local agriculture, farmers, and the community,” he said.
Owowcow is celebrated for its unique products that utilize local farms and producers to create distinctive flavors. Fezzuoglio aims to continue this tradition in New Jersey, sourcing ingredients such as local cage-free eggs, raw honey, and Jersey tomatoes, peaches, and blueberries. Beach Plum Farm, which produces over 100 varieties of fruits and vegetables, will be a key supplier.
“The work we do with local farms is the core of our business,” Fezzuoglio stated. “We integrate the finest, freshest ingredients picked at the peak of perfection into our ice creams, and we’re really excited to utilize Jersey blueberries, peaches, and tomatoes in our products this summer. There’s really no other ice cream brand like us at the Jersey Shore.”
Founded in 2009, Owowcow prides itself on making handcrafted ice cream from scratch daily. It is one of the few artisan-crafted, small-batch ice cream companies in the U.S. licensed by the Department of Agriculture to make their ice cream base from scratch.
