PHILADELPHIA, PA —The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that sign installation work is set to take place next week on southbound Interstate 95 in Northeast Philadelphia. The operation, which will happen at night, is part of the department’s larger $52.6 million I-95/CP3 project.
The installation work is scheduled for Wednesday, March 6, and Thursday, March 7. From 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, motorists can expect a right lane closure with intermittent slowdowns on southbound I-95 between the Academy Road/Linden Avenue (Exit 32) and Bridge Street/Harbison Avenue (Exit 27) interchanges.
Given these circumstances, drivers are advised to allow extra time for travel through this area as backups and delays are anticipated. It should be noted that the operation is weather-dependent. Unfavorable weather could potentially delay the work and affect the schedule.
The sign installation is part of PennDOT’s larger I-95/CP3 project, which comes with a hefty price tag of $52.6 million. The project aims to improve access and traffic movements on surface streets around the I-95 Cottman Avenue and Bridge Street interchanges.
