PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a critical $37.4 million repair project on southbound Interstate 95 that will see 27 bridges in Philadelphia undergo high-priority repairs to ensure their continued safety and functionality.

On the nights of Monday, July 1, and Tuesday, July 2, travelers on southbound I-95 should brace for slowdowns between Bleigh Avenue and Ashburner Street. A single lane will close at 9:00 PM, escalating to a double lane closure from midnight until 5:00 AM. Additionally, lane closures at the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange for joint repair will occur simultaneously from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

Motorists are urged to allocate extra travel time due to anticipated traffic backups and delays during these hours. The execution of these activities depends on favorable weather conditions.
