PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that overnight line striping will take place next week on northbound I-95 in Center City as part of ongoing improvements under the I-95/CAP project.
The work is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, from 9:00 PM until 5:00 AM the following morning. During this time, a single lane closure will be in effect on northbound I-95 between the Columbus Boulevard and I-676 (Vine Street Expressway) interchanges. Drivers are advised to plan for potential backups and allow extra travel time when passing through the area.
This maintenance is a component of PennDOT’s $329 million I-95/CAP project, a comprehensive effort to upgrade the covered section of I-95 while enhancing pedestrian and multimodal accessibility between Center City Philadelphia and the Delaware River waterfront.
Motorists are reminded that all scheduled activities are weather dependent. PennDOT encourages drivers to approach the work zone with caution to ensure the safety of workers and those traveling through the area.
