FORT WASHINGTON, PA — Senator Maria Collett (D-12 Montgomery) recently announced the allocation of $473,662 in grant funding to 30 local fire companies and emergency medical service (EMS) departments in Pennsylvania’s 12th Senatorial District. The Office of the State Fire Commissioner awarded these funds to support vital services that these departments provide to the community.
The funding is part of the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Service Grant Program, which aids providers across the state in enhancing their facilities, acquiring equipment, providing training and education, and more.
Senator Collett stressed the importance of this funding in supporting the brave individuals who risk their lives every day to ensure the safety of the community. “Our district’s first responders – most of whom are volunteers – courageously put their lives on the line each day to keep our neighbors and communities safe,” she said. “I am proud to support our local fire and EMS providers, and I am pleased to see them receive the funding they need to continue doing their jobs safely and effectively.”
Among the grant recipients serving the 12th District are various fire companies and EMS departments, including Bryn Athyn Fire Company Inc., Center Square Fire Company, Colmar Volunteer Fire Company, Community Ambulance Association Ambler PA, Fairmount Fire Co. Number 1, Fire Dept. Of Montgomery Township, Fort Washington Fire Co. Number 1, Harleysville Area Emergency Medical Services Inc., and many more.
Each of these departments received grants ranging from $10,000 to nearly $17,000. These funds will be instrumental in helping these organizations continue to provide high-quality emergency services to the residents of the 12th District.
The news of this funding aims to ensure that local first responders have the resources they need to protect their communities. As these funds are put to use, residents across the 12th District can expect to see an enhancement in their local fire and EMS services—a testament to the state’s dedication to safeguarding its citizens.
