NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Residents and commuters in Delaware County should prepare for potential traffic disruptions as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) continues road construction on Route 3, popularly known as West Chester Pike, in Newtown Township. This work is part of a local safety improvement project aimed at enhancing road conditions and motorist safety.

From Monday, January 15, through Friday, March 29, lane closures are scheduled in both directions on Route 3 between Boot Road and Bryn Mawr Avenue. The closures will occur from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and again from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the affected area as backups and delays are anticipated. As always, all scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change depending on the conditions.

Residents and commuters are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly and remain patient as these necessary improvements are made.
