PHILADELPHIA, PA — Odessa, a leading provider of technology solutions for asset finance, has hired Robert Johnson as the global head of automotive finance. Johnson brings over 30 years of experience in supporting auto and equipment finance companies in the development and implementation of core technologies.
Odessa is renowned for its robust, end-to-end, extendible solution for lease and loan originations, contract management, and remarketing. Johnson’s appointment comes at a time when finance companies are rapidly innovating across all business units to adapt to changing consumer preferences, which increasingly favor personal, fast, and efficient buying, financing, and servicing experiences.
Odessa’s CEO, Eric Bernstein, expressed his excitement about Johnson’s appointment. He highlighted the shift in the technical foundation of auto finance from monolithic platforms to component-based systems. Bernstein stated, “The components-based technology Bob will manage for Odessa enables auto finance companies to process many different financial instruments and business units with different needs on one platform, without having to conform to the old ways of doing business. We’re glad to have him, because he knows the needs of the auto finance industry.”
Prior to joining Odessa, Johnson held key leadership roles at EY, CEDAR CX Technologies, defi SOLUTIONS, and Alfa Financial Software in London. Commenting on his new role, Johnson said, “I joined Odessa because of the capabilities of its agile asset-based platform, and the company’s differentiated approach to customer relationships. The cloud-based, API-first platform provides total flexibility for customers to self-configure, integrate, and extend the platform to suit their needs. This technology and team are what the auto finance industry has been waiting for.”
Johnson will be based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, marking a strategic geographic move for Odessa. His appointment is set to further strengthen Odessa’s position as a global leader in providing innovative technology solutions for asset finance.
