North Wilmington Beauty Salon Employee Robbed in Parking Lot, Delaware State Police Investigating

WILMINGTON, DE — The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a robbery that took place in a North Wilmington beauty salon’s parking lot on Wednesday night. The incident occurred at approximately 9:38 p.m. at the Philly Salon located at 222 Philadelphia Pike in Wilmington.

According to the police report, an unknown white male suspect approached a salon employee who was taking out the trash in the parking lot. The suspect demanded all of the victim’s belongings and threatened to shoot her. When the 36-year-old female victim refused to comply with the suspect’s demands, he grabbed her necklace, causing both of them to fall to the ground. The suspect then snatched the victim’s purse and fled the scene on foot in a northeast direction.

Responding troopers immediately canvassed the area for the suspect based on the victim’s description but were unable to locate him. Fortunately, the victim was not injured during the altercation.

The case is being investigated by the Delaware State Police Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit. As of now, there is no surveillance footage available to aid in the identification of the suspect.
