PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced nighttime lane closures on I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) next week to facilitate bridge deck repairs and line striping. These operations are part of a $37.9 million project aimed at resurfacing and repairing nearly five miles of the expressway, as well as associated ramps and more than 20 bridges in Philadelphia and Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County.

Work is scheduled to occur from Monday, April 28, through Thursday, May 1, between 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM the following morning. During these hours, a single lane will be closed on I-76 between the U.S. 1 South (City Avenue) and I-676 interchanges.

Motorists are advised to plan for delays and allow additional travel time while navigating through the work zones. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.

PennDOT urges drivers to exercise caution and remain alert when traveling near active construction areas to ensure the safety of road crews and fellow motorists.
