Nighttime Lane Closures on I-476 and I-95 to Cause Traffic Delays Next Week

Traffic Alert

SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that nighttime construction activities will continue next week on Interstate 476, affecting travel and safety on the interstate, associated on-and-off ramps, and bridges in Delaware and Montgomery counties.

From Monday, July 15, through Friday, July 19, sections of southbound I-476 will experience lane closures from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM for paving between the I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) and I-95 interchanges. During the same period, northbound I-476 will have lane closures from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM for guiderail replacement between the Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and I-76 interchanges.

On Thursday, July 18, and Friday, July 19, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, southbound I-95 will see lane closures between the Prospect Park/Essington (Exit 9B-A) and I-476 (Exit 7) interchanges for stormwater management. Concurrently, southbound I-476 between Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and MacDade Boulevard, and northbound I-476 between I-95 and the County Line Road overpass, will also face lane closures for stormwater management.

Additionally, from Monday, July 15, through Friday, July 19, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging will occur on Baltimore Pike between Turner Road and Paper Mill Road in Nether Providence and Springfield townships, Delaware County, for bridge repair.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through all these work areas as significant backups and delays are expected. All scheduled activities depend on weather conditions and may be rescheduled if necessary. PennDOT urges patience and caution while navigating these construction zones.
