PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced ongoing nighttime construction on Interstate 95 in Northeast Philadelphia next week.

From 6:00 AM Monday, August 12, continuously until 3:00 PM Friday, August 16, the ramp from Aramingo Avenue to northbound and southbound I-95 at the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange will be closed for concrete repairs and intersection improvements. Drivers will be redirected to the nearby intersection of Aramingo Avenue and Adams Avenue for access to and from I-95.

Additionally, from Monday, August 12, through Friday, August 16, alternating single lane closures will be in place on southbound I-95 between the Bridge Street and Betsy Ross Bridge interchanges from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM for pavement repairs.

A single lane closure will start at 9:00 PM, followed by a double lane closure at midnight until 5:00 AM on northbound and southbound I-95 between Bleigh Avenue and Ashburner Street for the installation of reflectors.

Motorists should plan for delays and allow extra time for travel through these areas. All activities are weather dependent.

These repairs are part of a $37.4 million project focused on high-priority repairs on 27 I-95 bridges in Philadelphia, ensuring the functionality, safety, and mobility of this vital corridor.

The intersection work at the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange is part of the nearly completed, $93.6 million I-95 Section BR2 project, which aims to enhance connections between I-95 and surface streets.

PennDOT urges drivers to exercise caution and patience while navigating these construction zones.
