Nighttime Construction Planned on Southbound I-95 in Delaware County

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a series of nighttime construction activities on sections of southbound I-95 in Delaware County, scheduled to take place over the next three weeks. These projects aim to improve infrastructure and enhance road safety.

From Sunday, February 2, to Friday, February 7, between 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM each night, a lane closure will be implemented between the Ridley Park (Exit 8) and I-476 (Exit 7) interchanges in Ridley Park Borough and Ridley Township for the installation of digital message signs.

Additionally, from Sunday, February 2, to Thursday, February 6, during the same nighttime hours, lane closures will occur between the Route 420 (Exit 9B-A) and I-476 (Exit 7) interchanges in Tinicum and Ridley Townships and Ridley Park Borough for the replacement of traffic cameras.

Survey operations will also take place between I-476 (Exit 7) and U.S. 322/Commodore Barry Bridge (Exit 4) in the City of Chester and Upland Borough. This work is scheduled between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM from Monday, February 3, through Thursday, February 6; Monday, February 10, through Thursday, February 13; and again on Monday, February 17, and Tuesday, February 18.

PennDOT has advised motorists traveling through these areas to allow extra time as significant delays and backups are anticipated. All work schedules are weather dependent and subject to change.
