WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — Nighttime construction continues next week on I-476 as part of a $63.7 million project to resurface, repair, and improve nearly 17 miles of the interstate and its associated ramps and bridges. Work will also include daytime bridge repairs on U.S. 30 in Delaware County.
From Monday, February 3, through Friday, February 7, sections of northbound and southbound I-476 between the I-76 and I-95 interchanges will experience lane closures nightly from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM for guiderail and inlet replacement and tree trimming.
Additionally, weekday closures on U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) between King of Prussia Road and Route 320 (Sproul Road) in Radnor Township will occur from Tuesday, February 4, through Friday, February 21, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM for bridge repair.
Under this federally funded project, construction crews will mill and overlay travel lanes and shoulders on I-476, repair 49 bridges, and address roadside safety features such as guiderails, signage, drainage systems, and slope stabilization. The project aims to improve ride quality, safety, and infrastructure durability.
PennDOT advises drivers to allow extra travel time due to potential delays. All schedules are weather-dependent, and physical construction is expected to be completed by late 2025.
H&K Group, Inc. of Skippack, PA, serves as the project’s general contractor.
