MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that nighttime concrete patching operations will begin next week on eastbound U.S. 422 in Montgomery County. The work is part of a $6.9 million project to rehabilitate pavement between the Route 29/Phoenixville and Route 363/Trooper Road interchanges in Upper Providence and Lower Providence townships.
From Tuesday, May 28, through Thursday, May 30, a single lane closure will be in place on eastbound U.S. 422 between the Phoenixville/Collegeville (Route 29) and Bridgeport/Valley Forge (Route 23) interchanges. The closures will occur nightly from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning.
Motorists should allow extra time when traveling through the work area as traffic backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The project involves accelerated concrete patching, bridge deck repair, diamond grinding, joint sealing, and installing reflective pavement markings. J.D. Eckman, Inc. of Atglen, Chester County, is the general contractor for this state-funded project.
