Nighttime Closures Ahead: How Lower Moreland’s Water Main Project Will Impact Your Commute

Traffic Restrictions

LOWER MORELAND TOWNSHIP, PA — Aqua Pennsylvania is set to undertake a significant water main construction project in Montgomery County, which will affect local traffic for an extended period. Beginning Monday, November 11, and continuing until Friday, August 29, 2025, Philmont Avenue will be closed to traffic during nighttime hours, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following day, on weekdays.

The construction will necessitate detours around the affected section of Philmont Avenue, specifically between Route 63 (Red Lion Road) and Pine Road. Motorists will be directed to follow alternative routes using Route 63 and Pine Road. Despite the closures, local access will be maintained up to the work zones.

Travelers are advised to anticipate potential delays and to allocate additional time for their commutes during the construction period. As the schedule is subject to weather conditions, motorists should stay updated on road conditions and detours by consulting the MyChesCo Traffic Center.
