Nighttime Bridge Demolition Scheduled on Rockhill Drive in Bensalem Township

Traffic Alert

BENSALEM, PA — Construction work is set to continue next week on Rockhill Drive in Bensalem Township, with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) scheduling nighttime bridge demolition as part of a project to reconstruct, widen, and improve U.S. 1 in Bucks County.

From Sunday, November 19, through Tuesday, November 21, traffic will be reduced to a single lane in both directions on Rockhill Drive between Old Lincoln Highway and Neshaminy Boulevard. The lane closures, which will be in effect from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM each day, are necessary for PennDOT’s contractor to safely demolish the southbound side of the existing bridge carrying U.S. 1 over Rockhill Drive.

During the construction period, motorists traveling in both directions on U.S. 1 will use the new northbound bridge. This arrangement will remain in place during the southbound construction phase.

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and allow extra travel time due to potential delays in the work areas. As always, all scheduled activities are weather dependent and may change if conditions are unfavorable.
