PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced nighttime bridge deck repairs on I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) as part of a $37.9 million project to enhance nearly five miles of roadway. The initiative encompasses resurfacing, ramp maintenance, and repairs to over 20 bridges in Philadelphia and Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County.
The next phase of work is set for April 15 through April 18, with lane closures scheduled in both directions between Montgomery Drive and City Avenue. Work will take place from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM each night, potentially causing significant traffic delays.
Motorists are urged to plan ahead and allow extra time when traveling through the affected area. PennDOT advises that all activities are weather-dependent and may be subject to changes if conditions do not permit safe operations.
