RADNOR, PA — NewSpring, a private equity firm, announced the formation of the NewSpring Holdings Federal Advisory Board to enhance its federal platform companies. This move comes after substantial progress in the federal sector, marked by the acquisition of BridgeCore in July 2023 and three subsequent add-ons: GeoYeti, teKnoluxion, and 2 Twelve Solutions. In 2022, NewSpring Holdings sold Avantus Federal for $590 million.
The Federal Advisory Board is led by Chairman Andy Maner, former CEO of Avantus, and Chris Blahm, NewSpring Holdings Federal Operating Partner. The board’s founding members include Senator Roy Blunt, Lieutenant General Kevin McLaughlin (USAF ret.), Luanne Pavco, and Jeremy King. This group will guide NewSpring Holdings’ efforts to expand its portfolio and support businesses serving the U.S. Government.
Andy Maner has been with NewSpring since 2018, previously serving as CEO of Avantus and now as Executive Chairman of Bcore. His career includes significant roles at The White House and the Department of Homeland Security, as well as successful private sector ventures in the federal space.
Chris Blahm has a proven track record working with Public Sector clients, including the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. His experience spans companies like CACI, NISC, IBM, and Avantus. Blahm focuses on accelerating growth through strategic mergers and organic sales channels.
Senator Roy Blunt served as a Missouri state Senator from 2011 to 2023. Known for his pragmatic approach, Blunt has been influential in healthcare, education, and national security. His extensive network and experience will be invaluable to NewSpring Holdings’ leadership.
Lieutenant General Kevin McLaughlin has over 41 years of experience in space and cyberspace operations. As the former Deputy Director of U.S. Cyber Command, he excels in operations, strategic planning, and policy development. McLaughlin has also been an active member of the Avantus Board.
Luanne Pavco brings a wealth of experience from senior leadership roles at IBM, Avantus, and Slalom Consulting. Her expertise in scaling companies and providing executive mentorship will greatly benefit the Federal Advisory Board.
Jeremy King has spent 25 years building leadership teams for high-growth companies. His extensive network within the intelligence, defense, and national security communities makes him a valuable asset to the board.
Lee Garber, NewSpring General Partner, stated, “We are delighted to partner with Andy and these esteemed leaders as force multipliers of the NewSpring Holdings disciplined business-building and value creation initiatives. Their broad purview of the market, people-focused ethos, and past experiences will enhance our current and future investments by helping to navigate complex industry challenges and seize emerging opportunities.”
The Federal Advisory Board aims to drive value into NewSpring Holdings’ federal platform companies. This aligns with NewSpring Holdings’ Industry Leader Approach, which focuses on scaling lower-middle-market companies by collaborating with skilled operators and management teams.
Andy Maner expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “It’s an honor to work with NewSpring again to establish and guide multiple platforms in the government services space. The distinguished and talented careers that our Advisory Board brings together will not only enhance government missions but also unlock immense value for NewSpring.”
The board’s formation aims to build and scale companies that meet the sophisticated needs of the U.S. Government across various platforms.
