NEWARK, DE — The New Castle County Division of Police is currently conducting an investigation into a shooting incident that took place in the community of Summer Hill.
On Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 5:58 p.m., patrol officers were dispatched to Fern Court following reports of a shooting. En route to the scene, officers received a description of a suspect reportedly seen fleeing the area. Upon arrival, they apprehended an individual who matched the provided description.
The man was identified as 26-year-old Ammanuel Falice of Newark. He was found to be in possession of a firearm and a loaded magazine. Falice was then transported to New Castle County Police headquarters.
In the course of examining the shooting scene, the police discovered a residence that had been struck by gunfire. No injuries have been reported as of yet, and it remains unclear if the residence was occupied at the time of the incident.
Falice has been charged with one count each of felony reckless endangering in the first degree, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and criminal mischief. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and is currently being held in lieu of $65,500 cash bail.
