KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — The Global Retailer and Manufacturer Alliance Inc (GRMA) and the American Council of Independent Laboratories (ACIL) recently announced a groundbreaking cooperation agreement. This collaboration seeks to harmonize quality initiatives across a wide array of health and wellness products, including dietary supplements, botanicals, cosmetics, and drugs.
The partnership is built on a foundation of mutual commitment to collaboration, inclusion, and promoting scientific credibility. By establishing a framework for joint work, the organizations aim to leverage their respective strengths in advancing the integrity and efficacy of health and wellness products.
Allyn Shultis, GRMA Executive Director, expressed enthusiasm about the formalization of this relationship through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the inclusion of ACIL’s Dietary Supplement Laboratory Practices into the GRMA’s Dietary Supplement Product Integrity Program. “Together we can advance practices, methods, and maintain scientific rigor needed to address the challenges we face today,” Shultis noted.
Echoing this sentiment, ACIL CEO Richard Bright highlighted the importance of such alliances in driving industry-wide progress. “Collaboration is the key to getting things accomplished,” Bright said, underscoring the alliance’s potential to bring about significant improvements over the coming years.
By combining GRMA’s influence among retailers and manufacturers with ACIL’s expertise in independent laboratory practices, this partnership is poised to set new benchmarks for product safety, effectiveness, and consumer trust in the health and wellness category.
