Business News

WILMINGTON, DE — MRA Group (MRA), a privately held real estate development and services firm, is set to begin construction on a Marriott Residence Inn at the Chestnut Run Innovation & Science Park (CRISP) in Wilmington, Delaware. The project, developed in partnership with Gulph Creek Hotels, marks a key step in MRA’s vision to make CRISP Delaware’s leading multi-tenant innovation campus.

The 164-acre, 1.3 million-square-foot CRISP campus will benefit from this highly anticipated hotel, which offers 127 guest rooms for short- and long-term stays. Features include food service, a full-service bar, meeting spaces, and outdoor recreation areas, catering to business and leisure needs alike.

“The addition of the Residence Inn is not only an amenity that benefits the CRISP campus, it also serves as a viable hotel option for the broader Wilmington area,” said Phil Butler, MRA Executive Vice President and Partner. “We’re excited to break ground on the hotel and look forward to providing a high-quality experience through the built environment and operational excellence delivered by our partners at Gulph Creek Hotels.”

The hotel will complement CRISP’s planned amenities, which include childcare and fitness centers, a bank, a restaurant, outdoor green spaces, and recreational facilities. This all-inclusive concept ensures convenience for campus tenants and visitors alike, enhancing collaboration and creating a self-contained workplace and community environment.

The first hotel to be built in the area in nearly three years, it aims to fill a critical gap in Wilmington’s lodging market. Construction, backed by D2 Capital Advisors, WSFS Bank, Nuveen Green Capital, and Sustainable Energy Utility Incorporated, emphasizes MRA’s commitment to sustainable and energy-efficient development.
