MILLERSVILLE, PA — A wave of alleged vehicle thefts has swept through the quiet borough of Millersville, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, leaving residents and local authorities on high alert.
On December 29, 2023, homeowners on the 100 and 300 blocks of N. George Street reported that their vehicles had been rummaged through overnight. Approximately $20 in loose change was allegedly stolen, marking an unsettling start to their day. The investigation into these incidents is ongoing.
Adding to the community’s concerns, another incident was reported on the same day by a resident on Kready Avenue. The homeowner claimed his vehicle was opened, and items worth approximately $200 were stolen. Another vehicle on the property was also reportedly opened and rummaged through.
In light of these allegations, the Millersville Borough Police Department is advising residents to lock their vehicles, a simple yet crucial step in preventing such incidences.
These reports of alleged theft follow an earlier incident on December 24, where a resident on Normal Avenue reported numerous items stolen from his vehicle overnight, resulting in a loss amounting to $1600.
The spate of alleged thefts serves as a grim reminder of the importance of vigilance and security, even in one’s own driveway.
Nevertheless, it’s important to remember that information, a criminal complaint, or an arrest does not equate to a declaration of guilt. Any suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
