Manhunt Underway for Suspect in Attempted Robbery and Aggravated Assault in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department’s Northwest Detective Division is actively seeking the public’s help in identifying an individual linked to an attempted robbery and aggravated assault that took place on Sunday, February 25, 2024.

According to the complainant’s report to the police, the incident occurred at 2800 N Broad St at around 7:14 PM. The complainant recounted that while driving with his family, another vehicle collided with his car. When he stopped, the driver of the other car approached him. After a brief conversation, the individual allegedly pulled out a gun and attempted to rob the complainant.

Fearing for his safety, the complainant fled the scene. As he was driving away, the suspect reportedly fired three shots at his car. While the vehicle was hit, no injuries were reported among the occupants.

Further investigation and review of city surveillance cameras provided additional insights. The suspect was seen at 22nd and Lehigh, entering a store shortly before the alleged robbery attempt.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’10”, in his early 20s, wearing a gray puffy coat with black pants, shirt, and boots. The vehicle associated with the suspect is a silver Buick Lesabre or LeCrosse, identifiable by a tag in the back windshield and a dent on the front passenger side quarter panel.

The authorities urge anyone who spots the suspect or the described vehicle not to approach but to contact 911 immediately.
