MANHEIM, PA — A man in Lancaster County has been charged with harassment and false imprisonment following a reported domestic dispute. The charges stem from an incident that allegedly took place on December 17, 2023.

Officers from the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 1700 block of Gish Road in Penn Township after receiving a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, they made contact with the victim who reported that her husband, Carl Edwin Martin, aged 51, of Manheim, PA, had taken her phone during a dispute and locked it in a safe to which she did not have access.

Further allegations suggest Martin disabled the garage door when the victim attempted to leave the residence. Based on the circumstances surrounding the case, Martin was charged with harassment and false imprisonment. He was arrested on December 27, 2023.

As the case unfolds and additional details emerge, it’s crucial to bear in mind that an arrest, a criminal complaint, or information related to the incident is not a declaration of guilt. Martin, like any suspect, arrestee, or defendant, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
