PROVIDENCE TWP, PA — the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has confirmed that a substantial maintenance operation is set to take place in Lancaster County. Starting Monday, March 11, a PennDOT crew will undertake the replacement of two large pipes along Rawlinsville Road (Route 3009), a key artery between Pennsy Road and Mount Hope School Road in Providence Township.
The project, contingent on cooperative weather conditions, is expected to conclude by Sunday, March 31. However, during this period, Rawlinsville Road will be temporarily off-limits to through traffic between Pennsy Road and Mount Hope School Road. While this may cause some inconvenience, PennDOT assures that access to local residents will not be disrupted.
To manage traffic flow and minimize disruption, an alternative route has been mapped out. Motorists who normally traverse Rawlinsville Road are advised to instead use the detour via Mount Hope School Road, Route 272, and Pennsy Road.
PennDOT urges drivers to exercise caution during this period, keeping a vigilant eye out for halted or slow-moving vehicles around the work zone. The department recognizes the potential inconvenience this may cause but stresses the importance of these works for the long-term safety and functionality of Rawlinsville Road.
Residents and motorists alike are encouraged to stay informed and patient as these necessary improvements take place.
