LOWER POTTSGROVE TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced significant construction activity next week on U.S. 422, Sanatoga Road, and Porter Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County. The work is part of an $83.6 million infrastructure project aimed at reconstructing and improving approximately 2.1 miles of expressway and replacing bridges.
From Monday, February 17, through Friday, February 21, motorists can expect single lane closures on U.S. 422. Westbound closures will occur between Route 100 and Keim Street from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM for sign construction, while eastbound closures will be in place between Keim Street and Route 100 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Additional work will affect local roads. Both Sanatoga Road and Porter Road will experience intermittent single lane closures between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM daily, with 15-minute traffic stoppages expected as bridge construction progresses. On Porter Road, the work area extends between E. High Street and Sanatoga Station Road. On Sanatoga Road, closures will occur between E. High Street and Linfield Road.
Motorists traveling through the area should anticipate delays and are encouraged to allow extra travel time. All construction activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled if necessary.
