Major Rail Improvements Coming to Abington Township: Plan Your Route

Road Closed

ABINGTON TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced upcoming rail improvements by SEPTA on Susquehanna Road in Abington Township, Montgomery County. The work is set to begin on Tuesday, September 3.

Susquehanna Road will be closed at its intersection with Easton Road from 9:00 AM on September 3 until 8:00 PM on September 9. During this period, motorists will need to follow a designated detour route. The detour will guide drivers onto Edge Hill Road, Easton Road, Jenkintown Road, and Fitzwatertown Road.

Commuters should plan for additional travel time as delays and backups are expected due to the closure. These improvements are part of SEPTA’s ongoing efforts to enhance rail infrastructure in the region. All activities are subject to change based on weather conditions, which may affect the schedule.

The community is encouraged to stay informed about the project to minimize inconvenience and ensure a smooth commute.
