LOWER POTTSGROVE TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced construction work as part of an $83.6 million project aimed at reconstructing and improving 2.1 miles of U.S. 422 and replacing several bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road in Montgomery County.

Intermittent lane closures and traffic stoppages will impact several key routes from Monday, February 3, through Friday, February 7. Planned closures include the following:

  • Porter Road: Both directions between E. High Street and Sanatoga Station Road will experience single lane closures and 15-minute traffic stoppages between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM for bridge construction.
  • U.S. 422 Westbound: A single lane closure will occur between Route 100 and Keim Street on February 4 and 5 from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM for sign construction.
  • U.S. 422 Eastbound: Lane closures will impact areas between Keim Street and Route 100 on February 4 and 5 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for similar work.
  • Sanatoga Road: Both directions between E. High Street and Linfield Road will have single lane closures and 15-minute stoppages from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, February 4 through 7, for bridge construction.
  • U.S. 422 (Evergreen Road to Armand Hammer Boulevard): Westbound lanes will see intermittent closures on February 6 and 7 from 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Eastbound lanes between Keim Street and Evergreen Road will face closures the same days from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for road and bridge reconstruction.
