COLLEGEVILLE, PA — Christine Romano, a Community Driver at Providence Place Senior Living at the Collegeville Inn, has been named one of the recipients of the prestigious 11th Annual National Ceca Awards. This recognition celebrates her exceptional dedication and compassion in providing care to residents, making her one of three caregivers nationwide to receive the honor this year.
Recognized for her tireless commitment, Romano stood out for going above and beyond in her role. A resident’s family praised her thoughtful care, recounting moments when Christine ensured their mother’s comfort and emotional well-being. She arranged for the resident to attend a family wedding, arriving early, engaging warmly with family members, and ensuring everything ran smoothly. Whether accompanying residents on appointments or personal drives down memory lane, Romano has consistently shown exceptional kindness and attentiveness.
Romano’s achievement will be celebrated with a recognition ceremony at Providence Place on March 18, where she will receive a $2,500 bonus and a commemorative trophy.
“Every year, the staff and board at Ceca are overcome with emotions as we read through the amazing stories of the caregivers in our midst,” said Nate Hamme, President and Executive Director of the Ceca Foundation. “Christine’s story highlights the exemplary care and positive impact she has on the lives of residents. We are very proud to honor Christine for the dedication, compassion, and skill she exhibits.”
Providence Place Senior Living President and CEO David Leader echoed the sentiment, saying, “We are so proud of Christine, a long-term member of our team. She takes her commitment to our residents to heart, frequently going above and beyond expectations. Christine knows that her work can make a real difference in residents’ lives – and every day she does. She sets an incredible example for us all.”
Christine Romano’s recognition spotlights the impactful collaboration between Providence Place Senior Living and the Ceca Foundation, a partnership that continues to honor and reward care professionals in all seven Providence Place communities. This award highlights the importance of compassion in caregiving and sets a strong precedent for future initiatives that elevate those who dedicate their lives to enhancing the well-being of others.
