PHILADELPHIA, PA — SEI (NASDAQ: SEIC) and the Philadelphia Phillies have embarked on an innovative initiative to celebrate Philadelphia’s vibrant art scene and its enduring love for baseball. The organizations are commissioning a mural by a local artist to be displayed in a prime location above Ashburn Alley at Citizens Bank Park for the 2024 Major League Baseball season.
This unique contest calls upon local mural artists to submit their creative concepts that encapsulate Philadelphia’s story through art. The submissions should highlight the region’s distinctive culture, the bold spirit of its inhabitants, the fervor of Phillies fandom, and SEI’s mission to build brave futures through the power of connection.
The winning artist will have the honor of painting their mural at Citizens Bank Park, one of the city’s most iconic locations. They will also be featured in promotional activities that delve into their background, experience, and the inspiration behind their unique mural. The crowning moment will be participating in a mural unveiling event at Citizens Bank Park and being recognized on the field before a Phillies home game.
The first and second runners-up of the contest will also get their moment in the sun, with invitations to attend a Phillies home game. Furthermore, all contest submissions will be considered for display at SEI’s corporate headquarters in Oaks.
At the conclusion of the baseball season, both organizations will make a contribution to a local nonprofit from their co-branded charitable fund. In a lasting tribute to the chosen art piece, SEI will relocate the mural from Citizens Bank Park to its corporate headquarters for continued display.
Ryan Hicke, SEI’s CEO, emphasized the importance of art in fostering creativity within the workplace. He added, “The Phillies and SEI share a deep commitment to building the connections that make an impact. Creative vision can push boundaries and drive innovation across communities and industries, and we’re proud to partner with the Phillies to build brave futures for the region.”
Jackie Cuddeback, Senior Vice President of Partnership Sales and Corporate Marketing at the Phillies, echoed this sentiment, stating, “This is a terrific opportunity for an artist to showcase their passion for our great city and hometown team. We’re excited to team up with SEI for this unique contest and can’t wait to unveil the new mural to our fans during the 2024 season.”
This contest is not just about creating a mural; it’s about celebrating Philadelphia, its artists, and its baseball fans. It’s a testament to the power of art in uniting communities and fostering a sense of local pride. The initiative holds promise to further cement Philadelphia’s reputation as a city where art and sports live in harmony.
