Lincoln Financial Enhances Disability Claims with AI Technology

Lincoln Financial Group

RADNOR, PALincoln Financial Group (NYSE: LNC) has expanded its efforts to improve disability insurance claims processes using advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology. The initiative aims to provide better claims management, improved guidance for claimants returning to work, and more streamlined operations.

Lincoln’s new approach uses AI to analyze claims data and extract critical insights. This technology aids claims professionals by offering timely information, which helps in making accurate claim decisions and supporting claimants in their recovery and return-to-work journeys.

“We are focused on investing in innovations to drive the best outcomes for our customers,” said Christen White, Senior Vice President of Lincoln Financial Group Protection Claims and Operations. “Partnering with a technology leader has quickly advanced our ability to support claimants with better resources for their recovery. This technology enables our specialists to focus on the right claims at the right time, ensuring the best determinations for our claimants.”

Lincoln’s Group Protection business started its partnership with EvolutionIQ in early 2023, initially applying the technology to long-term disability claims. Following its success, Lincoln expanded the partnership this year to enhance the experience for short-term disability claimants.

In 2023, Lincoln Financial’s Group Protection claimants reported an average satisfaction rate of 91%. The enhancements from EvolutionIQ are expected to further improve this strong customer experience.

Michael Saltzman, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of EvolutionIQ, expressed excitement about the collaboration. “We’re thrilled to be part of Lincoln Financial’s efforts to incorporate advanced technologies that enhance team efficiencies while providing better care and support for their customers. This collaboration allows Lincoln to deliver cutting-edge service to its stakeholders.”
