PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that pavement restoration will take place next week on Interstate 95 in Bucks County and Route 63 (Woodhaven Road) in Philadelphia.
From Wednesday, May 29, to Friday, May 31, southbound I-95 will have a right lane closure between the Route 132 (Street Road) overpass and the Route 63 (Woodhaven Road) Interchange in Bensalem Township. The closure will be in effect from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM each day.
Simultaneously, eastbound Route 63 (Woodhaven Road) will experience a right lane closure between the Thornton Road and Academy Road underpasses in Philadelphia. These restrictions will also run from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM each day.
Motorists are urged to allow extra time when traveling through these areas as traffic backups and delays are expected. All work is weather dependent.
The pavement restoration is part of a $24.1 million project aimed at upgrading Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) components throughout the Philadelphia region. The ITS equipment will help PennDOT’s Regional Traffic Management Center monitor travel conditions and provide real-time updates to motorists about area highways.
