LANCASTER, PA — The Lancaster Stormers announced the addition of outfielder Sam Plash to their roster, securing him as the seventh overall pick during the Atlantic League Pro Days draft, sponsored by Indy Ball Jobs. Plash joins the team as they prepare for spring training, set to begin Sunday, April 13.
Plash, 27, brings prior professional experience in the Frontier and Pioneer Leagues, where he recorded a .222 batting average, 14 hits in 63 at-bats, and four home runs. Before his time in professional baseball, Plash had an impressive collegiate career at the University of Mobile. Over two seasons, he posted a .322 average with 20 homers and 86 RBIs across 85 games. Notably, before transitioning to baseball, Plash played as an offensive lineman at the University of Mississippi.
The Stormers, now with 28 players in their spring camp roster, will take to the field for their first practice on April 14, followed by their initial spring training match-up against York on April 16. Fans can look forward to five home exhibition games, including the FanFest game against Hagerstown on Saturday, April 19, at 1 p.m.
Lancaster’s regular season opens on April 25 at Long Island, with the home opener scheduled for May 2 at Penn Medicine Park against Gastonia. Manager Ross Peeples and the team are eager to see Plash and the rest of the roster in action during the 2025 campaign.
