LANCASTER, PA — The Lancaster Stormers have bolstered their roster for the 2025 season with the signing of catcher Alex Isola, as announced this week by manager Ross Peeples. Isola becomes the 27th player to join the team ahead of the season opener on April 25 at Long Island.
The 26-year-old California native brings a strong offensive presence to the Stormers. Over five seasons in the Minnesota Twins’ farm system, Isola demonstrated his power at the plate, hitting 17 home runs for Class A+ Cedar Rapids in 2021 and another 20 for Class AA Wichita in 2023. Last season, he split time between Wichita and Class AAA St. Paul, recording a .215 batting average, seven home runs, and 37 RBIs in 89 games.
“Isola is a guy who can actually play all over but is primarily a catcher,” said Peeples. “He will be our main guy in that position. He also swings (the bat) pretty well from that position, too.”
Collegiately, Isola played for the University of Utah before joining Texas Christian University. His signing is one of the final moves ahead of the season, with the Stormers planning to add one more player following evaluations at the Atlantic League Pro Days this week.
Lancaster’s home schedule at Penn Medicine Park begins on Friday, May 2, at 6:45 p.m., when the Stormers face the Gastonia Ghost Peppers.
