LANCASTER, PA — Frank Newcomer, a 52-year-old resident of Columbia, Pennsylvania, was arrested in late February by the Lancaster County Drug Task Force (LCDTF) on allegations related to the possession and sale of methamphetamine.

The arrest followed an investigation that began in July 2023, during which multiple controlled buys were made using pre-recorded money from the LCDTF. The purchases were conducted by confidential informants and undercover officers over several months, leading up to February 2024.

On February 22, 2024, officers executed a search warrant at Newcomer’s residence on the 500 block of Walnut St. It is alleged that Newcomer brandished a loaded firearm before being arrested outside the back of the residence after a brief struggle with police officers. Another individual found in the home was also arrested on an outstanding bench warrant from New Jersey and has since been extradited for prosecution.

Evidence

Investigators reportedly recovered nearly 200 grams of methamphetamine, 15 strips of Suboxone tabs, 13 Lorcaserin pills, $764 in cash, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded handgun during the execution of the search warrant.

Newcomer now faces charges including possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, two counts of aggravated assault to a law enforcement officer, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Following his arraignment on February 22, 2022, Newcomer’s bail was set at $75,000 cash by Magisterial District Judge Miles Bixler.

As the investigation continues, additional details may emerge. However, it is crucial to remember that all allegations remain merely accusations until proven guilty in a court of law.
