COLUMBIA, PA — The Columbia Police Department announced that two juveniles were taken into custody on February 18, 2024, following multiple complaints of attempted thefts from motor vehicles. The allegations have shocked local residents and led to a swift response from law enforcement.
Between the hours of 7:40 PM and 11:13 PM, the Columbia Police Department received several calls from concerned citizens within the 700 block of Locust Street and 200 block of Perry Street. The callers reported suspicious activity involving alleged attempts to steal from parked vehicles.
Promptly responding to the complaints, police managed to locate and identify two unnamed juvenile individuals believed to be involved. When approached by law enforcement, the juveniles allegedly fled the scene but were later apprehended and taken into custody.
The young suspects now face charges including two counts each of theft from a motor vehicle, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, and loitering and prowling at nighttime.
