PHILADELPHIA, PA — GF Hotels & Resorts has announced the return of John Parker to its team. Parker, who served as Regional Vice President of Operations from 2009 to 2012, has rejoined the company as Chief Operating Officer. With over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Parker is expected to bring significant value to the GF Senior Leadership Team.
Parker’s most recent role was as Chief Operating Officer at Real Hospitality Group. There, he oversaw assets worth $2 billion and a total top line of $600 million. He supervised a team of 4,500 associates and led the company to become the largest third-party operator of hotels in New York City. Under his leadership, the company grew from a start-up to over 100 properties, including major brands such as Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, and IHG. Parker played a crucial role in marketing and selling the company, leading to its acquisition by Stonebridge.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina, Parker holds a bachelor’s degree in Travel Tourism and Commercial Recreation. He is active in the hospitality industry, serving on the Marriott Owner’s Advisory Board and the AHLA Management Company Committee. Parker is also a regular speaker and panelist for hotel industry publications, including Hotel Business and Hotel Management.
As Chief Operating Officer at GF Hotels & Resorts, Parker will oversee day-to-day operations alongside Vineet Nayyar, President & COO, Owned Division, and the senior leadership team. His responsibilities will include crafting and executing strategic initiatives aimed at propelling the company to new heights. Parker will also focus on innovative marketing and operational strategies to increase revenue and enhance customer satisfaction.
