PHILADELPHIA, PA — Life Science Cares Philadelphia (LSC) has announced the appointment of Jennifer Parrado as its new Executive Director. Beginning her role today, Parrado brings nearly 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, philanthropy, and advocacy to the organization, which focuses on leveraging the life sciences industry to combat poverty in Philadelphia.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jenn to Life Science Cares Philadelphia,” said Vin Milano, Board Chair of LSC Philadelphia. “Her deep-rooted commitment to use science and community as vehicles for change, coupled with her proven ability to build impactful partnerships, makes her the ideal leader to bring LSC into its next chapter.”
Parrado’s track record reflects a career dedicated to social impact. Most recently serving as Executive Director of Simon’s Heart, she expanded its reach nationally by cultivating partnerships with organizations such as the NFL, MLS, and Boys & Girls Club of America. Her work also advanced legislative efforts on cardiac health awareness in collaboration with Governor Josh Shapiro and federal policymakers.
Earlier in her career, Parrado played an instrumental role as Regional Advancement Director for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, where she helped secure significant funding for cancer research. At Cradles to Crayons, she led initiatives focused on fundraising and volunteer programs, earning a reputation for strategic growth and community engagement.
“I am excited to join LSC at this critical point and cannot wait to get started,” Parrado stated. “I also offer deep gratitude to Morgan Berman, my predecessor, for her leadership and dedication.
