DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and the Lower Makefield Township Department are currently investigating a tragic incident that resulted in the fatal stabbing of a 19-year-old woman on Friday on Waterford Road.
Lower Makefield Police responded to a call at 2:28 p.m. reporting a burglary in progress in the 2500 block of Waterford Road. The reported incident was described as domestic-related. Upon their arrival, officers witnessed a male suspect allegedly tackling a female to the ground and repeatedly stabbing her. In an attempt to evade the police, the male is reported to have inflicted multiple stab wounds on himself.
Despite the immediate life-saving measures taken by the police, the young woman was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital. The male suspect, aged 23, survived his self-inflicted injuries and is currently under medical care. Charges against him are expected to be filed in due course.
The authorities have reassured the community that there is no further threat following this isolated incident. The case remains under investigation by detectives from the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and Lower Makefield Township Police Department, along with Deputy District Attorney Alan J. Garabedian and Assistant District Attorney Rebekah Van Der Werf.
