BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced significant road closures next weekend as part of its $116 million reconstruction and widening project on a three-mile stretch of U.S. 1 in Bensalem Township, Bucks County. The reconstruction includes intersection upgrades and ramp improvements to enhance traffic flow and safety.
From 8:00 PM on Friday, April 11, through 5:00 AM on Monday, April 14, Rockhill Drive will be closed at Horizon Boulevard. Additionally, the ramps from northbound U.S. 1 to Rockhill Drive and westbound Rockhill Drive to southbound U.S. 1 will be inaccessible during this period.
Commuters are advised to follow marked detour routes. Northbound U.S. 1 travelers heading to east or west Rockhill Drive will be rerouted via the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 exit, Old Lincoln Highway, Bristol Road, and Neshaminy Boulevard to reach their destination. Meanwhile, westbound motorists on Rockhill Drive heading to southbound U.S. 1 will also be detoured through the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 exit and Old Lincoln Highway.
Drivers should plan ahead, allowing extra travel time due to potential delays. PennDOT emphasizes that the schedule is weather dependent and encourages motorists to stay informed about further updates.
