LANCASTER, PA — Professional-amateur women’s soccer is coming to downtown Lancaster as the Lancaster Inferno prepares to play their 2025 USL W League season at Penn Medicine Park. The team, entering its 11th season, offers a competitive platform for top collegiate players and aspiring professionals.

The relocation is a significant milestone for the team. COO Julie Cleaves shared her enthusiasm for the upgraded venue’s potential, stating, “We played at Penn Medicine Park for a game in 2016 and have been itching to play there again. Now, with the new turf that was installed, it’s an opportune time to bring pro-am soccer back to the ballpark.” Cleaves added that moving to a centralized location will enhance access for fans, bolstering the team’s connection to the local community.

This move aligns with recent efforts to modernize Penn Medicine Park. In 2024, the Lancaster Stormers partnered with the Lancaster County Redevelopment Authority to install artificial turf at the facility. This upgrade allows the ballpark to seamlessly transition between baseball and other events, such as soccer.

“We’re excited to welcome the Lancaster Inferno to Penn Medicine Park,” said President and General Manager Michael Reynolds. “Though the Stormers will always be the anchor of the ballpark, our goal is to provide the community with additional sport options. Pro-am women’s soccer is a fantastic opportunity for the area.”

The Inferno’s 2025 season runs from May to June, with playoffs in July. Fans can look forward to a broader range of ticketing options this year, including field-level sideline seating to enhance the game-day experience.

The team’s home opener at Penn Medicine Park is set for Monday, June 2, at 7 p.m. against the VA Marauders. Tickets can be purchased through the Penn Medicine Park or Lancaster Inferno websites.
