Icetec Energy and RENEW Team Up to Deliver Advanced Energy Solutions

Business News

BOOTHWYN, PA — Icetec Energy Services and RENEW Energy Partners (RENEW) have joined forces to bring advanced energy projects to life, focusing on battery energy storage systems (BESS) and microgrids. This partnership aims to help energy-intensive customers—such as manufacturers, hospitals, data centers, and universities—reduce costs, improve resiliency, and cut carbon emissions without requiring upfront investments.

The process begins with RENEW evaluating a customer’s energy goals and identifying the best technologies and efficiency measures to meet their needs. Afterward, Icetec develops a detailed model of potential savings, revenue, and carbon reductions using its innovative full-stack energy management software platform. RENEW then installs and manages the systems, funding the entire project upfront, removing financial barriers for the customer. Once operational, Icetec optimizes the assets to maximize savings and minimize carbon footprints.

Matthew Wolfe, Vice President of Business Development at Icetec, described the collaboration as a step forward for customers aiming to achieve energy and financial goals. “RENEW’s mission to decarbonize and their impeccable customer success record make them an ideal partner for us to help the growing customer base throughout the Northeast achieve their building-specific energy targets and overall financial goals,” he said.

By leveraging predictive analytics and advanced algorithms, Icetec’s platform coordinates various revenue opportunities, including participation in ISO market programs and utility demand response initiatives. For example, customers in Eversource’s Northeast territory could save more than $250,000 per megawatt annually by intelligently deploying BESS technology.

Charlie Lord, Principal at RENEW, highlighted the partnership’s significance. “Our partnership with Icetec combines RENEW’s financial expertise and turnkey project delivery with the best technology platform to leverage distributed generation assets. Together, we’re not just helping customers lower costs – we are providing a seamless transition to meaningful decarbonization,” he said.
