Originally set for this weekend, the closure is now rescheduled to accommodate events at the South Philadelphia Sports Complex.
The critical maintenance work, involving bridge deck repairs on two structures, will now take place from 9:00 PM on Friday, October 11, to 6:00 AM on Sunday, October 13, weather permitting. During this period, eastbound I-76 will be closed from just after the ramp to Grays Ferry Avenue/University Avenue (Exit 346B) to just before the 34th Street on-ramp.
Motorists are advised to use regional detour routes via I-676 East (Vine Street Expressway) to I-95 South, or I-476 South to I-95 North. Local traffic will be redirected at Grays Ferry Avenue/University Avenue (Exit 346B) and can access the I-76 East via the University Avenue Bridge/34th Street route. Despite the closure, all ramps to and from I-76 East will remain open, ensuring some level of connectivity.
