PHILADELPHIA, PA — In a chilling incident on Broad Street, a 25-year-old woman was left in extremely critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run. The Philadelphia Police Department is now seeking the public’s help in tracking down the driver involved in the incident.

On Friday, December 29, 2023, at approximately 9:35 p.m., the young woman was crossing Broad Street at Susquehanna Avenue when she was hit by what investigators believe to be a dark gray Nissan. The driver did not stop to offer aid or identify themselves to the police, instead fleeing the scene.

The woman sustained severe injuries, including a fractured skull and hips, according to police. Her condition remains extremely critical.

The initial investigation suggests that the Nissan was heading north on Broad Street when it struck the woman who was walking west across the street. Authorities have released a detailed description of the vehicle, which is believed to have a sun or moon roof, a black left front wheel, and silver-colored other wheels. There may also be damage to the right front of the vehicle.

Citizens are urged not to approach the suspect if they spot the vehicle but to call 911 immediately. Tips can also be submitted by dialing 215.686.TIPS (8477) or texting the same number. All tips will be confidential.

Anyone with information about this crime or the suspect is asked to contact the Crash Investigation Division at 215-685-3180 or 3181, or Police Officer Devlin, badge number 9420.

This is a developing story, and details may change as additional information becomes available. It’s important to remember that all allegations are just that – allegations. Both an arrest and a criminal complaint are not declarations of guilt. Every suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
