PHILADELPHIA, PA — Guardian Nurses Healthcare Advocates has partnered with The Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania to support an entrepreneurial Pennsylvania nurse who has started a healthcare business or whose business has been in operation for less than two years. The $5000 Guardian Nurses Entrepreneurial Award helps fund businesses including, but not limited to, those developing and selling a home health product or medical device, or offering independent nursing services, such as patient care, nursing education, home health and/or consulting services.
“There is no better week to announce this award than Nurses Week! Guardian Nurses understands the drive and determination it takes to start your own business, and we want to encourage and support nurse entrepreneurs in these endeavors,” said Betty Long, President, RN, MHA, Founder and CEO of Guardian Nurses and current President of the Board of Trustees for The Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania. “We know there are aspiring nurse entrepreneurs out there who want to use their professional nursing experience, their passion, and their education to start a business in the healthcare industry,” Long continued. “We hope this award will help a nurse create a business that will enable them to provide quality patient care and deepen their passion for helping people in the healthcare industry.”
To qualify, an applicant must have a valid Pennsylvania nursing license that is in good standing and own a company or organization based in, founded in, or have a significant presence in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Award finalists will be invited to participate in a virtual interview with members of the selection committee.
