GRMA’s Certification Program Achieves Global Recognition

Global Retailer and Manufacturer Alliance

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — The Global Retailer and Manufacturer Alliance (GRMA) has announced a significant advancement in the dietary supplements industry. Its Certification Program v1.2 has been officially recognized against the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) Benchmarking Requirements v2020, specifically Scope K. This achievement marks a pivotal step for GRMA, demonstrating its leadership in enhancing global quality standards.

GFSI, a part of the Consumer Goods Forum (CGF), plays a crucial role in setting food safety benchmarks worldwide. It unites over 400 retailers and manufacturers from 70 countries, promoting a unified approach to food safety standards. By meeting GFSI’s stringent requirements, the GRMA program joins a select group of certification programs recognized for their commitment to safety and quality.

Allyn Shultis, Executive Director of GRMA, expressed pride in the milestone, stating, “Reaching this milestone of GFSI benchmarking is a moment of pride for all GRMA members and a significant step forward in our mission to harmonize quality standards across the consumer product industry.” This achievement underscores GRMA’s dedication to consumer safety and well-being.

The GFSI benchmarking process helps reduce audit redundancy and trade barriers, embodying the principle, “Once certified, accepted everywhere.” This philosophy not only enhances product safety but also facilitates global trade by ensuring consistent standards across borders.

With this recognition, GRMA strengthens its position as a leader in the dietary supplements sector, paving the way for U.S. manufacturers to expand their reach and embrace international markets with confidence.
